Volunteerism differs across cultures and societies and has developed over the centuries. Nevertheless, a series of essential factors have prevailed, notably the notion that “reaching a common understanding of volunteerism and shared appreciation of its value; establishing and nurturing and enabling environment; and adopting a diversity of approaches to mobilizing and facilitating volunteerism” constitute the ultimate goals of volunteer promotion activities across the World.
In the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, a Volunteers Coordination Unit has been created to help create a friendly environment whereby both the Council and the volunteers themselves can benefit form the experience.
