VCU aims to promote the values of volunteerism amongst youth.

To provide volunteering opportunities that suite the youths' skills and interests.
To build capacities amongst volunteers to gain professional experience in their areas of concern.
Enrich NCCM's Programs through:
Attracting volunteers to join NCCM programs
Invest in the already existing volunteers in the programs
Set a framework to attract further volunteers and develop their chances of participating in the programs.

Attracting volunteers: Establish a database for volunteers
Providing opportunities to:
Providing 260 volunteering opportunities to the following programs: Child Helpline, Egyptian Aflatoun, Family Justice and Caravans for Social Development through IT.
Capacity Building:
For NCCM staff:
Organized 3 workshops to train staff on volunteers management
Organized a workshop in collaboration with Child Helpline International (CHI) on how to manage volunteers in the helpline
For Volunteers:
Organized 2 workshops to train and develop calibers for volunteers in the Child Helpline and Egyptian Aflatoun.
Research:
Compiled an analytical study on volunteerism in Egypt
International Cooperation Participation in:
The International Forum for the UN Volunteers Program in Bonn Jan 2008
The International Conference for CHI, where we presented our experience in volunteers' management in NCCM’s child helpline. Amman- Jordan.
7. Challenges
Systemized volunteerism is still a very immature topic in Egypt.
Little importance given to ethical volunteering in social development (family, school, media) and it is actually seen in parents that volunteering will waste their children's time from professional duties.
Some individuals will try to benefit unethically through volunteerism.
